♡ March Madness Day 8: My Go-To Spring Outfits ♡

Spring is right around the corner which could only mean this post had to be made. I did this last year for Fall 2013 and now it's time for Spring 2014! Let's get started!

I'd wear this outfit to just run some errands or anything like that. It's very casual and comfy.
Beanie- Nordstrom
Jeans- Boohoo
Shirt- American Eagle
Boots- New Look

This is an outfit I'd wear to a more formal day time event, like going out to lunch or anything like that. I usually wear a fun printed dress along with nude shoes and a nude bag.
Dress- Boohoo
Shoes- Aeropostale
Bag- Liz Clairborne

I don't care what season it is, I refuse to give up black. This is another outfit I'd wear on a daily basis mainly to hang out with friends or anything like that.
Sweater- River Island
Necklace- Aldo
Skirt- Top Shop
Flats- Mod Cloth

This is the outfit I wear 70% of the time. It's very casual and comfy, in other words it's right up my alley.
Cardigan- H&M
Shirt- H&M
Jeans- H&M
Shoes- Converse
Hat- River Island

Last but not least, my formal any time of day look. I usually have a tough time making the transition from winter colors to spring colors so I just splash some pastels onto my clothes.
Bangles- New Look
Clutch- Nordstrom
Dress- Glamorous
Necklace- Warehouse UK

I know, I know my style is pretty boring but whatever! Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

♡ March Madness Day 7: What To Pack For Spring Break: Fashion ♡

Spring break is coming up for most of you and I figured it was time for me to make a post helping you guys by telling you what to pack. I suck at packing but I've gotten better with time... ok maybe not... But anyways, this is a list aside from the essentials like toothbrush, shampoo, hair brush, etc.... Anyways, let's get started!
-The first and most obvious thing you should take with you especially if you're going to a warm place is your swimsuit. I read on Seventeen that you should take two swimsuits, one to use while the other dries and I totally agree. The one in the picture is from Nelly.
-You should also take your sunglasses because a) they protect your eyes from the sun and b) they look good. 'Nuff said. The one in the picture are from H&M.
-The best kind of bag to take on vacation is a tote bag because they're big and can store all your things so you won't have to run back to your hotel room every five minutes. The one in the picture is from New Look.
-Even if you're going to a warm place make sure to bring a sweater because warm places tend to get windy at night! Sweater pictured is from New Look.
-Bring a towel so you won't have to steal some from your hotel! Pictured one is from Forever 21.
-Shorts, do I even need to explain? These ones are from Boohoo.
-Bring some flippy floppies for the beach/pool! Ones in the picture are Havaianas.
-Bring a tank or an oversized shirt to wear to and from the beach! Pictured one is from Victoria's Secret.
-You probably won't have much time to do your hair, so bring a beanie, hair bow or something of that sort. Beanie is from Pac Sun.
-You might want to do something nice or go out, in that case bring something cute like a nice dress or something. Dress is from Boohoo.
-Also for that going out look bring some flats, they're light and easy to pack. Especially if they're foldable. Flats are from Charlotte Russe.

Where are you going for spring break?

♡ March Madness Day 2: Upcoming Spring Trends: Trend Report ♡

Surprise surprise, another post! March Madness is only getting started!
I did this same post last year and a lot of people seemed to enjoy it so I guess this is going to turn into an yearly kind of thing. I've researched on various websites and magazines to see what the trends of spring 2014 will be and I'm going to show y'all and tell you how to incorporate it into your wardrobe for cheap.

Pastels
glamour.com
Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Taylor
Pastels are always trends during spring time, whether it's on clothes, nail polish, lipsticks, it doesn't matter. Pastels are just always in. This trend was seen on many designers such as Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Taylor, amongst others.
If you're not sure what pastels are here are some pastel colors:
stackoverflow.com
American Apparel is the queen of pastels so keep that in mind if you're looking for some!

Wide Leg Pants
glamour.com
BCBG Max Azria, Trina Turk, Rosie Assoulin
Last year harem pants and drop crotch pants made quite the comeback and now it's time to go back to the 70s trend that we all loved oh so much. Wide leg pants. This is a great trend because it totally slims down your legs! Wide leg pants were seen by designers/brands such as BCBG, Trina Turk, Rose Assoulin.
How do you incorporate this into my wardrobe? I'll show you!
H&M

Brandy Melville

Sheer
elle.com
Calvin Klein
Sheer is going to be in! Sheer was seen on so many designers/brands such as Calvin Klein, Reed Krakoff, Theyskens', amongst many more! The good thing about this trend is that it will be fairly easy to add to our wardrobes here's how:
Forever 21

Forever 21

Forever 21

Collarless Coats
glamour.com
J. Crew, Rachel Zoe, Clover Canyon
Every season there's a new trend collar-wise whether it's peter pan collars, white collars but now it's collarless.

Floral
harpersbazaar.com
Alberta Ferretti
It's not news to any of us, people obsessed with fashion, that floral is a trend this spring. But this year the floral trend is being mixed with the whole graphic trend. Basically the goal is to stand out. The floral trend has been seen on the runway with so many designers such as: Alberta Ferretti, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Marni, Dries Van Noten, Emporio Armani, Christopher Kane, amongst many more.

It's fairly easy to incorporate floral into your wardrobe. Forever 21 has a whole page dedicated to floral on their website. Here's a few of my favorites:
Forever 21:

Urban Outfitters:

Fringe
http://www.harpersbazaar.com/
Emilio Pucci
No, not hair fringe! Hanging threads fringe! I think every trend report I read, keep in mind I've read plenty, talked about fringe being a trend. Who showed fringe in their designs? Rodarte, Derek Lam, Erdem, Missoni, J.W. Anderson, Calvin Klein, Altuzarra, Proenza Schouler, amongst others.

Graphic/Pop Art

 Chanel

elle.com
Diane von Furstenberg

The question isn't who showed pop art in their designs, it's who DIDN'T show pop art in their designs. This trend was seen on designs by Prada, Céline, Chanel, Valentino, Jil Sander, Christopher Kane, Kenzo and many many more. As you can blending into the crowd isn't exactly the goal this year.
In your wardrobe:
Metal

Proenza Schouler
Ladies, it's time to shine... literally! Metal has been seen in designers/brands such as Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, Saint-Laurent, Lanvin, Haider Ackermann, Rochas, Fendi and others.

♡Spring Makeup Preview♡

Spring is here! The season of pastel nails and floral prints! I decided to make a post rather similar to my last post (Summer Preview), a make up version but for spring. I've been doing some research by reading some Vogue and searching through a few blogs for the spring make up previews, this is basically a summary of it and how to embed it into your everyday make up routine! Hope you enjoy!

The first thing I noticed was red lips! This is perfect for all of us girls who love lipstick but hate looking overdressed! We'll no longer have that problem!

The first red lipstick that I love and use whenever possible is my Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Jet Set Red 180. I couldn't find a link to this actual lipstick on the Rimmel London website so they might have discontinued this or changed the shade's name to 'Alarm'. I'm not too sure because I haven't gotten the chance to go to store and buy the lipstick in alarm. But here is a picture of the Jet Set Red and the Alarm. Matte lips will be really in as well so this can be a way to use two trends at once!

I'm also a huge fan of MAC lipsticks, they are super smooth and feel great. They're super easy to apply and you don't have to apply it every hour or so. Here's the MAC Chili. It's more of a brownish red therefor it gives a more sophisticated looks, it looks awesome with a nice updo!
The next trend is bold eye shadow, which is great for us who love to play around with our makeup.

To achieve a bold eye look, we can use everyone's favorite... the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows! If you haven't tried it out yet, I highly recommend it. They're quick and easy to apply, it stays on for a long time and they're actually very pigmented. For swatches of this product and a review you can check out this super helpful post : Click here!

The next trend is mineral makeup! When I noticed a similar pattern in websites saying that mineral makeup was going to be makeup I was so excited that I actually went out and bought some new mineral blush and eyeshadow, I won't be mentioning what brand due to the fact that I actually haven't gotten the chance to actually test out the product. I love mineral make up, it has such a natural look and feels super light. If you don't know what mineral make up is, it's basically a loose powder type of product who is made with all natural minerals with the purpose to give you some coverage but not clog your pores like normal make up. It feels super light. Some popular brands to try out would be Bare EscentualsEvery Day Minerals. Karissa (saturdaynightsalrite on youtube) made a video talking about the Mineral Makeup Market and she's hosting a mineral give away on her channel so go check it out! If you've never tried mineral make up a great way to start is the Bare Escentuals' Get Started Kit it's a great way ti get started and it's only $30 dollars! You can click here to check that out!

Bold Colors are also going to be in. I was actually really excited about this one too. I'm actually going to be making a tutorial with this trend soon, so be on the look out for that! The best part about this trend is that it's completely affordable, you don't have to go out of your way to purchase some bold lipstick. You can just purchase some at your local drugstore. The accessibility is what I love about this!

Like I said before, this is extremely easy to find and add into your look. If you're going out to lunch with some friends put on some lipstick that matches your outfit. If you're going clubbing, put on some silver eyeshadow. Or if you're just going to school, you can always just paint your nails.

Shades of brown and shades of pink. Not at the same time! But if you want to then by all means you can do that. I'm actually a huge fan of brown eyeshadow, it looks so flattering on everyone. Pink can look good but only if used correctly! I'm one of those unlucky people who does NOT look good in pink, but who knows maybe I'll find a way to use pink and look alright. I might actually make a tutorial on this as well but I'm not sure yet!
